
Dubai. Muhammad Waseem, one of UAE’s most prolific scorer, will lead UAE in the two-match T20I series against Bangladesh. Waseem who just crossed the 2500 run mark and has a strike rate of 155.53 with three centuries and 20 half centuries from his 69 matches, is expected to inspire the 15-member team.
The T20I series will be played at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Saturday, (May 17) and on Monday, (May19) from 7:00pm. This will be Sharjah’s Stadium’s 39th T20 International. This venue has hosted the maximum One Day Internationals in the history of the game with 255 matches. UAE haven’t played in a T20 International in this venue since January 2, 2024 when they played Afghanistan in a three match series. In this series UAE even beat Afghanistan in the second T20 match but lost the first and third match.

The UAE squad for the Bangladesh series is made up of young and promising players like Alishan Sharafu, Aryansh Sharma, Asif Khan, Dhruv Parashar, Ethan D’ Souza, Haider Ali, Matiullah Khan, Muhammad Jawadullah, Muhammad Zohaib, Muhammad Zuhaib, Rahul Chopra, Saghir Khan, Sanchit Sharma and Simranjeet Singh.
Bangladesh squad will be led by Litton Kumar Das with Shak Mahedi Hasan as vice-captain. The others are Tanzid Hasan, Parvez Hossain Emon, Soumya Sarkar, Najmul Hossain Shanto, Md Tawhid Hirdoy, Md Shamim Hossain, Jaker Ali Anik, Md Rishad Hossain, Md Tanvir Islam, Md Mustafizur Rahman, Hasan Mahmud, Tanzim Hasan Sakib, Nahid Rana and Md Shoriful Islam.
The Emirates Cricket Board announced the broadcast details which is as follows: T-Sports – Bangladesh, Fancode – India, Cricbuzz – MENA, Geo Super – Pakistan, Willow TV – US & Canada Sportseye/YouTube – Global.
The ticket prices for the matches are General Stand (AED 30), Gold/Platinum AED 75, VIP Box AED 200. Tickets will be available at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium Box Office. On the two match days, the stadium gates will open at 5:00pm.
