Dubai. UAE women’s team that tops the Group B in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Asia Region Qualifier 2025 take on Thailand on May 18 in Bangkok. UAE had beaten Malaysia by nine wickets and Qatar by 163 runs to reach the Super three of this tournament. In UAE win over Qatar, the team had retired all ten batters to win the match which was threatened by rain. It was the first time ever a team retired all its players as UAE had posted 192 runs and rules prevent a declaration.
UAE coach Ahmed Raza asked the entire to retire in succession and bowled out Qatar for 29 runs. Skipper Esha Oza lead from the front to score 113 runs well backed by opener Theertha Satish with 74.
UAE had beaten Malaysia after restricting Malaysia to 30 for 8. UAE’s Katie Thompson bagged four wickets for seven runs. UAE had won this match in 4.3 overs. Thailand tops Group A with victories over Kuwait and Bhutan while Nepal tops Group C with victory over Bahrain though the match against Hong Kong was abandoned without a ball being bowled.
